General Questions

What areas do you cover?

BlueFlame Boilers serves homeowners across Epsom, Ashtead, Guildford, Horley and Kingston Upon Thames, as well as the surrounding areas of Surrey. If you’re unsure whether we cover your location, get in touch, and we’ll let you know.

Are your engineers Gas Safe registered?

Yes. All of our engineers are fully Gas Safe registered, which is the legal requirement for anyone carrying out work on gas boilers and heating systems in the UK. You can ask to see our Gas Safe credentials at any time.

How quickly can you get to me?

We aim to have an engineer to your door within 12 to 24 hours of your enquiry. Where possible, we also offer a same-day service for urgent requirements. We understand that heating and hot water problems don’t wait, and we work hard to respond as quickly as we can.

New Boiler Questions

Which boiler brands do you fit?

We fit boilers from Ideal, Glow Worm, Worcester Bosch and Vaillant. These are all well-established, reputable manufacturers with strong warranties and excellent track records. During your quotation, we’ll recommend the most suitable brand and model for your specific home.

How long does a new boiler installation take?

Most straightforward boiler swaps are completed within a single day. More complex jobs, such as installations involving new pipework, a change of boiler type or a different boiler location, may take longer. We’ll always give you a clear timescale before the work begins.

Do you offer a guarantee on new boiler installations?

Yes. All of the boilers we fit come with a manufacturer’s warranty, the length of which varies depending on the brand and model chosen. Our installation workmanship is also guaranteed. We’ll go through the full warranty details with you at the point of installation.

Can I spread the cost of a new boiler?

Yes. We offer finance options through Phoenix Finance, which allows you to spread the cost of a new boiler installation into manageable monthly payments. Finance is subject to status and eligibility. Speak to our team or ask during your quotation for more details.

Boiler Servicing Questions

How much does a boiler service cost?

Our annual boiler service is priced at £99 + VAT. This is a fixed, transparent price with no hidden extras.

How often should I service my boiler?

We recommend an annual service, ideally carried out in late summer or early autumn before the heating season begins. Many boiler manufacturers also require annual servicing by a Gas Safe registered engineer to keep the warranty valid.

What does a boiler service include?

During a service, our engineer will inspect the heat exchanger, burner, flue, gas pressure and all safety controls. We’ll clean components where necessary and carry out tests to confirm your boiler is running safely and efficiently.

Boiler Repair Questions

What should I do if my boiler breaks down?

Get in touch with us as soon as possible. We aim to respond quickly and have an engineer with you within 12 to 24 hours. In the meantime, if your boiler is displaying a fault code, note it down as this will help our engineer diagnose the problem faster.

Do you repair all boiler brands?

We repair a wide range of gas boiler brands and models. Get in touch with details of your boiler, and we’ll confirm we can help.

My boiler keeps breaking down. Should I repair or replace it?

This is a common question, and the honest answer depends on the age and condition of your boiler. If your boiler is less than ten years old and the repair cost is reasonable, a repair is usually worthwhile. For older boilers with a history of breakdowns, replacement is often the more cost-effective choice in the long run. Our engineers will give you an honest recommendation without any pressure.

Powerflush Questions

What is a powerflush, and do I need one?

A powerflush is a deep clean of your central heating system that removes sludge, rust and debris from your radiators and pipework using specialist chemicals and a high-pressure pump. You may benefit from a powerflush if your radiators take a long time to heat up, have cold spots or if your system hasn’t been cleaned in a number of years.

How much does a powerflush cost?

Our powerflush service is priced at £100 per radiator and includes valve changes, not just a basic flush.

What is Blueflame Cover?

BlueFlame Cover is our boiler and heating protection plan, available in three tiers: Basic, Premium and Premium Plus. It’s designed to give you ongoing peace of mind, covering servicing and protection against unexpected repair costs. Full details of each tier are available on our BlueFlame Cover page.
